SR 200 comes into Carrington from the East and meets US 52 and US 281 in the Northeast corner of town.

The annual Potholes and Prairie Birding festival in June brings many birdwatchers to Carrington. From this city drives are held to birding hotspots where you can see such birds as Sprague's Pipit, Baird’s Sparrow, Leconte’s and Nelson’s Sharptail Sparrows, and Chestnut Collared Longspurs as well as many as 300 different species of birds which visit and nest in this area. The Foster County fair held here in June features livestock shows, a banana bread baking contest, a community sing and good food prepared by local cooks. Carrington City park is outfitted with playground equipment, volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, horseshoe pits, a swimming pool, picnic facilities, softball diamonds and a disc golf course.
