Where can anyone find a nicer town than Ashley for SR 3 and SR 11 to pass through?

This city just recently celebrated its 125th year in existence. There's a new festival starting in this town, Ashley's Sizzling Summer Days to be held conjunction with Heritage and Hot Rods Car Show during the month of June. It will have concerts, a truck pull, kuchen eating contest, arm wrestling, street races for young and old. and a polka fest. August is an exciting time in Ashley when the annual rodeo is held. It is now a Professional Rodeo Cowboys association sanctioned event. In the Heritage Center building you can spot the influence of German-Russian design. There are other buildings on the center grounds including an early rural Lutheran Church, a sod house, an outdoor baking oven, a band stand, a small vintage Ashley business building, a one-room school house and a machinery storage building. A unique site in this otherwise predominately Christian area is the Ashley Jewish cemetery. Two areas that appeal to the residents recreational needs are the municipal pool and Centennial park. The park has new picnic shelters, restroom facilities, playground equipment, a sand volleyball court, a basketball court, a baseball diamond and a gazebo in the center court of the park which has been the scene of live entertainment.
