CR 42 runs through Epping and meets CR 8 at the Northern edge of town.

Epping owes its existence to the Great Northern railroad. Its post office was established in the Spring of 1906 and the town was incorporated as a village around 1913. You might say that downtown Epping is a museum. Eight buildings on Main Street make up the Buffalo Trails museum. Thy are the Thorseth homestead cabin, Burrington school house, Stevens school, Ellingson General Merchandise, Fosse Barber Shop with a Dentist's office, C.F. Carpenter Hardware & Machine, C.F. Carpenter's East annex and the Sons of Norway hall. Buffalo Trails Day is held in July at the community pavilion. This event begins with a pancake breakfast and a parade and has an inflatable playground, Ice Cream social, charity auction and the homemade bake sale.
