Mandan District Court is probably more properly called Morton County District Court and is in North Dakota's South Central judicial district.

Some of the Morton county parks offering residents a chance to enjoy the outdoors are Graner park and Sugarloaf bottoms with electrically equipped camper pads, primitive camping sites, picnic shelters, children's playground, potable water, public boat ramp with Missouri river and Lake Oahe access and Public boat docks; Little Heart Bottoms park with public boat ramp Missouri river and Lake Oahe access and a boat dock and Fort Rice campground with electrically equipped camper, primitive camping sites, picnic sites and proximity to Fort Rice State Historic site. The annual Morton County Fair held at the Morton County fairgrounds in New Salem at the beginning of August. The fair features 4H livestock exhibits and judging, a rodeo, dancing to live music and a barbecue chicken supper.
