Fort Yates District Court may more commonly known as the district court of Sioux county and is in North Dakota's South Central judicial district.

ABOUT THE AREA

A part of the Standing Rock Sioux reservation is located in Sioux county. The people living on this reservation are members of the Dakota and Lakota nations although they are often referred to as Sioux. The Standing Rock Sioux tribe owns and operates a casino near Cannon Ball and the Prairie Knights casino and lodge at Fort Yates in this county.
