COMMENTS
Rexburg District Court is the district court of Madison county. The magistrate court of the county meets in the same building. Both courts are in the Seventh judicial district of Idaho. US 20 and SR 33 are the two major roads in Madison county and they meet in the western part of Rexburg.
ABOUT THE AREA
Madison County was formed around 1913 and named after president James Madison. The first settlers to arrive in this county were from Utah. They established farms, built roads to connect them and built the first irrigation system in the area. The annual Whoopee Days rodeo held around July Fourth and the annual Madison County fair in August take place at the Madison County Fair grounds in Rexburg. Two county parks, Beaver Dick and Twin Bridges are located near Rexburg. The city has a series of parks of its own. They both have camping sites and a boat ramp to the river. Rexburg is home to the Idaho branch of Brigham Young university. You can feel pretty comfortable living in Rexburg; in 2013 it was ranked 11th among the 100 safest cities in America. Although the Teton Flood museum occupies a small area in the basement of the Rexburg Tabernacle, you will find quite a bit of material displayed. There are such items as a display of traps, historic firearms, a military display, saddles and a pioneer kitchen display. The other museum in town, the Legacy Flight museum, is a hanger filled with with aircraft which are still maintained in operational capability. There are such planes here as a group of P-51 Mustangs, Beechcraft Staggerwing, Grumman TBM-3 Avenger, North American T-6 Texan, Boeing Stearman and a P-63 King Cobra.
