US 89 runs through the center of town as Main street.

Willard lies along the Willard Bay reservoir. This city, was settled around 1851 as North Willow Creek. A stone mason from Wales, who settled in this city, built the homes using the gray, granite colored stones found on the foothills to the East which are still standing today and are still occupied. To prevent damage from floods, such as occurred in 1923 and in the 1930's, stone dikes and spillways were constructed and the upper part of the mountain adjoining the city was terraced. Willard Bay State park, which lies between the city and the reservoir, affords the opportunity for residents to enjoy swimming along its beaches, camping, water sports, boating and fishing.
