COMMENTS
Running through the center of Richmond you will find the North-South US 91 where it meets SR 142.
ABOUT THE AREA
Although Richmond was surveyed and laid out by the territorial surveyor around 1861; if not for a single camper and his family settling in the Summer of 1859 on the Southwest boundary of Richmond followed by additional families settling in the area in Autumn of that year and new settlers in the spring of 1860 there would not be a city there. Arising from the selection of the best cattle from the Holsteins brought to the the Latter Day Saints tithing yard, in Richmond, by local dairymen; the Black and White Days festival became an annual event. As the years moved on carnival rides, food vendors, footraces, the Saturday evening horse pull and a parade were added to this week long event. The Cub River Sports complex is a facility shared with Lewiston. Musical entertainment is provided by bands during Richmond's Harvest market in October.
