Us 91 runs through the center of town and SR 218 meets it a short distance North of the center.
ABOUT THE AREA
Among the parks and other recreational facilities in this city you will find the Civic center, with its full size gym, the Recreation Center; with its weight room, full basketball courts, racquetball courts, bouldering climbing wall, dance studio running/walking tracks, indoor volleyball, batting cages, cardio room and aerobics room and Forrester Acres sports complex with its softball fields, pony league field, little league field, playground, football/soccer fields, Blue Sox field, outdoor batting cages, equestrian park and trail system. Added to this is the Sky View pool at Sky View High school. The Smithfield Recreation department holds several races for all ages at their race courses throughout the year. Two Summer events are anxiously awaited by the residents each year; Movies in the Park, at Mack park and Concerts in the Park at Central park.
