SR 116 meets SR 132 in the Eastern part of town and SR 132 runs West until it meets North Springs drive.
ABOUT THE AREA
Settlers from Nephi settled this town around 1859 first calling it Sanpitch. It then took on the names Mego, Little Rome, and Duck Springs until it was named Moroni City by its first probate judge. In 1862 the settlers were forced to move away from the river site North to the nearby hills by high water. To obtain water the settlers constructed an intricate system of canals and ditches. The Moroni Opera House was built by two Moroni businessmen around 1891 and still is standing today. It has been restored and serves as an opera house and dinner theater. The Moroni Feed turkey plant is one of the largest employers in the county and in addition to producing turkeys, not to waste anything, produces compost mixes from the turkey droppings. The town has two municipal parks.
