Essex County is the second populous County in NJ and has a population of 800,000 people. Newark City is the largest municipality in NJ and has high crime rate and Irvington Township in the County has a poorly-ranked school system. On the other hand, Belleville township is called the Cherry Blossom capital of US, Verona township was ranked as one of the top places to live by NJ Magazine, Glen Ridge borough\'s school system is top-ranked and Maplewood township was ranked as one of the most desirable places to live in the United States. Part of Essex County falls in the Watchung Range and South Mountain Reservation and is thus very charming and picturesque. NJIT and Rutgers University in Newark, Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, Seton Hall University in South Orange etc are colleges in Essex County. Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, Essex County Hospital in Cedar Grove are amongst the hospitals in the County. Eagle Rock Reservation which is a forest reserve and Turtle Back Zoo in the South Mountain Reservation in West Orange are in Essex County too. Ambrose Ward Museum um in East Orange, Montclair Art Museum, Livingston Mall and Short Hills Mall are all within the County boundaries.
