ABOUT THE AREA
Montague township has about 3500 residents. Mashipocong Pond, Lake Sawmill and Lake Rutherford are in the region. High Point State Park is nearby too. High Point Golf Club is walking distance from the Courthouse. US Rt 206 and Rt 23 pass through the township. I-84 is in the vicinity, but mostly if not entirely on the other side of the border with PA and NY. Montague appears to be at the point where all three states meet, near Port Jervis in New York and Matamoras in PA.
