Google can't find this one - Town of Portage brings up the Highway Dept with the correct phone number, but wrong map location; Portage Town Justice brings up the Hunt Baptist Church on SOUTH Church St - but I cannot find NORTH Church St. Best bet - call for directions.

ABOUT THE AREA

The communities of Portageville, Oakland (formerly Messenger's Hollow), Hunts Hollow & Portage Station grew up around the portage around the falls of the Genesee River, the town's western border; Coshaqua Creek goes through the eastern section. Oakland Edgerly Building circa 1875, formerly a farm, is listed in the National Registry of Historical Places, & currently a private dwelling.
