Court is between Route 22 and the Hutchinson Parkway. Anne Hutchinson, who was banished from New England (1642) for religious practices, settled in Eastchester with her children after the death of her husband. The Hutchinson River (and Parkway) are her namesakes.
ABOUT THE AREA
Eastchester began settlement in 1664 when ten families migrated from Fairfield, Connecticut. Eastchester is bound by Scarsdale on the north, New Rochelle on the east, Yonkers on the west, and Mt. Vernon on the south. Eastchester consists of the communities and villages of Bronxville, Bronxville Hts, Tuckahoe, Crestwood, Cedar Knolls, and Waverly. The area is also famous for its quality marble quarries. Many famous structures contain "Tuckahoe Marble" including: St. Patrick's Cathedral and main branch of The NY Public Library (both in NYC), and the Government Printing Office and Main Post Office (both in Washington, DC)
Justices James P Connors Jr. and Dominick J. Porco preside over cases appearing before the bench.
The Town Attorney John A. Sarcone III and deputy Town Atty Louis Reda handle all of the Court proceedings involving violations of Town Law and the Town's Vehicle and Traffic Code. Other cases prosecuted by Westchester DA's office.
TYPE OF CASES
Traffic, criminal, and local law cases are heard. Small claims are held as a separate session.
