Presiding over a tough, grimy district, Judge Cioppa has a lot on his hands. Exacerbating things, he even has several citizens claiming that he has denied them due process, among other courtroom violations. Not sure how it will all play out, but if you can, stay out of this area. Too much inner turmoil. Too many wrong turns awaiting unsuspecting victims.

District 05-2-09 serves Braddock Borough, Braddock Hills Borough, Swissvale Borough, and Rankin Borough. This area is among the economically poorest in the Pittsburgh area, especially Rankin, which ironically doesn`t have a severely high crime rate, unlike Braddock. All four boroughs are predominately residential, but at one point Braddock was a major industrial center, home of Andrew Carnegie`s first steel mill and the first A&P supermarket. It has a profound history dating back to the Colonial Era, all the way up through its glory days when the steel mill industry was booming, which is best encapsulated in the historical novel "Out of This Furnace" by Thomas Bell. But now destitution and crime lies heavy in the hills of Braddock.

Judge Ross C. Cioppa has faced some criticism related to bus drivers and security officers, but we don't know what it's all about.
