ABOUT THE AREA
The Town of Taylor has the distinction of refusing to be used as a site for a nuclear waste dump, prefering to remain predominently a farming community. Consisting of Taylor Center (Solon Pond), Union Valley (Dorantown), & Taylor (East Solon, Taylorville & Bangall), the town offers trails for snowmobiles, cross-county skiing, & hiking (as part of the Finger Lakes Trail). The Union Valley Congregational Church & Community Center are listed on the National Register for Historic Places. We guess that means something happened there sometime.
