ABOUT THE AREA
Birthplace of the healthy corset, though it may have fallen out of common use. Home of the NY Central College, which in 1849, before the Civil War, admitted both men & women, regardless of color or social station. Mosquito Creek & Trout Brook flow through town, named for Samuel McGraw, the town's first settler, whose original cabin eventually became a store and post office. Village is just east of I-81 and Cortland.
