ABOUT THE AREA
Poestenkill is a bedroom community named after the stream that runs through the southern part of town. It is one of the smallest towns in the county, located just southeast of Troy. The town includes the hamlets and villages of Barberville, E. Poestenkill, and Ives Corner.
