ABOUT THE AREA
Arnold Potter was the owner of this town on the late 1700s. The area was known as the "Potter´s Town" even when the actual approximate 34 square miles were known with several referrals due its residents, the history grates the first land owner of this terroritory. Studying the population census and comparing it with most of the towns and villages, not only on Yates County but the surroundings counties; Potter Town is the only town where the population tendencies (male-females) are almost equal.
