ABOUT THE AREA
Lowville is the County Seat of Lewis County and home to the largest cream cheese factory in the U.S. owned by Kraft. There is a cream cheese festival held every year. There is also a bowling pin factory here. Dr. Peter Ostrum, a veterinarian in Lowville is better known as the child actor who played Charlie Bucket in the original "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"
