ABOUT THE AREA
The Washington County seat was named by the Indians the "Great Carrying Place" (Wahcoloosencoochaleva) which was changed after the first structure built in this town; the Fort Lydius. The Amtrak station facilitates the access to this community, which irrigates its lands with the Hudson River waters. The Fort Edward Yacht Basin is for sure the destiny for a relaxing day.
