Marin County is surrounded by water on three sides (is that really surrounded? And are there really three sides?) so there is plenty of water side attractions like the aquarium which houses plenty of sea creatures and beach sports. Music festivals and art festivals are held here on the beaches of the city and there is always a steady in flow of visitors. The main attractions are the Napa and the Sonoma valley vineyards and the civic center. Sausalito is somewhere around here too.<br>San Rafael overlooks the San Pablo Bay, the northern reach of the San Francisco Bay Area.<br>Wine tasting and antiques shopping has been the top activities in the city for decades because a lot of them are concentrated here. There is plenty to do within drivable distance in the city. You can visit the local artists stores and displays in the downtown and spend all day doing this. The Golden Gate National recreation Area is home to some of the most rare wild and exotic flower species. The valley is full of flowers and visit to spend a nice day or have a picnic.
