ABOUT THE AREA
This prosperous community interacts directly with the Blackwater River, not only because it irrigates the land but it’s also part of the town's beginnings. The River was witness of the Civil War when the "Joint Expedition against Franklin" took place back in the middle 1800's. The men involved in this small battle covered their work and service with medals and Franklin City got its name written in the history books.<br>The City of Franklin sits near the southern border of Virginia, on the western edge of the Norfolk area.
