ABOUT THE AREA
The origin of the name Hopewell is still unclear; some historians claim its name comes from an English ship brought from the City of Ashford. The James and Appomattox rivers irrigate the territory of this independent city and, these rivers provide a great atmosphere to this Tri-Cities area member. When going over the 21st Avenue, do not forget to stop by the Weston Manor house. This house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places due the preservation of its 18th century's interior.
