COMMENTS
I-264 and I-464 meet in Portsmouth creating a symphony of speeding tickets leading to a crescendo of traffic court revenue.
ABOUT THE AREA
The City of Portsmouth has been independent from the county government since the middle 1800's. The strong English influence is pragmatic and active on the resident of Portsmouth. A very historical moment changed the life style and vision of many men and women, the African-American Methodist Movement helped many slaves to get their right to enjoy freedom and allow them the acquisition of homes in the Olde Towne. It is, nevertheless, a central component of the Norfolk area.
