ABOUT THE AREA
The destination of Powhatan started in the hands of a group of explorers running an expedition on the James River area. The county seat goes by the same name as the Powhatan County. This is a farming community with more than 190 farms, but the local government is after the diversification of the financial activities because of a major transformation required because of the commerce inthe surrounding areas.
