ABOUT THE AREA
Richmond is about 15 miles South of Houston on Highway 59. During the early settlement the city was big with cattle, selling the cattle to northern states. Cattle wasn't the only thing that Richmond would provide, they also were strong on rice fields and did some oil drilling like almost everywhere else in Texas.
