ABOUT THE AREA
On the eastern corner of State rises the independent city of Suffolk. The territory got named after a Virginia English Governor back in the 1700's, Sir William Gooch. Farming lands combined with urbanized areas in this land incorporated back in the early years of the 19th century. More than 25 communities constitute the list of towns in Suffolk, a few of them are: Bennetts Creek, College Square, Driver, Hall Place, and others.
