The Town of Seward consists of 5 hamlets: Dorloo, Gardnersville, Hyndsville, Janesville & Seward, all named for early settlers, names that are prominent in the areas rich Revolutionary War history, both Patriots & Tories. A worthy part of the "Breadbasket of the Revolution", in 1882, the dairy farms were still supporting 3 town cheese factories.
