ABOUT THE AREA
The historic Playland amusement park is located in Rye on Long Island Sound and features one of the oldest wooden roller coasters. Famous Rye residents, past & present include: Amelia Earhart, Jason and Justine Bateman, Buster Crabbe, and Ogden Nash. Community is characterized by a large number of single family homes, some of which just might be inhabited by people who work in a somewhat larger nearby city.
