With a population of approximately 150,000 and a desirable geographic location, Syracuse is the crossroads between Route 81 North and South and Route 90 or the Thruway East and West. The city is home to Syracuse University, its largest employer, and serves as host to the annual Great New York State Fair. A project called DestiNY USA proposes to transform the city's Carousel mall into one of the nation's largest. As a result, the city expects to create thousands of jobs and collect in excess of $100 million in sales tax revenues and project fees.
