ABOUT THE AREA
The spirit of many Native Americans is still walking on the streets of Oxford borough, where the local Hood's Tavern became so important that many residents decided to call their town "Hood's Crossing". By the time this community incorporated back in the 1830's, the Dickey's family managed "the party" in this territory. Today this land of less than 2 square miles of extension is the home of more than 4300 inhabitants.<br>Isn't Oxford a kind of shirt? Or a dictionary? So confusing.
