ABOUT THE AREA
This beautiful mountainous little community of about 500 people is home to Swain Ski Center, the oldest ski resort in NY, though not necessarily the best. Although a small community it was the home of Frederick Decker the "Ossian Giant" - seven and half feet tall and nearly 400 pounds - and he didn't play for the Bills.
