ABOUT THE AREA
Harrisburg has been witness to important historic events such as the American Industrial Revolution and the U.S. Civil War. It was also witness to a more infamous event – namely the Three Mile Island nuclear plant accident. Luckily the partial meltdown of the reactor core was contained. Transportation access to Harrisburg in the form of canals and later rail lines, helped this city to become a major industrial center and the 10th largest city in the state.<br>Ridgeview is to the northeast of Harrisburg along I-81.
