ABOUT THE AREA
Potatoes are a big crop in the area; contributing a significant amount to the french fry production. It is not unusual in Othello to see large groups of Geese and Sandhill cranes. The Columbia National Wildlife Refuge is located about 5 miles from the city. Its more than twenty thousand acres offer sites for fishing, biking, wildlife viewing and just extroadinary sightseeing. The Othello Rodeo, proceeded by a rodeo and county parade, is held each September.
