Much of the downtown area of Spokane has been renewed by the renovation of many of the older buildings. Good medical care is available in the city. Deaconess and Sacred Heart Medical centers have large medical staffs and provide acute care services. There are ample opportunities to get a college education. Gonzaga University has undergraduate liberal arts and science programs and has graduate studies in several subjects including Business and Special Education. There is also a Spokane branch of Washington State university.
