ABOUT THE AREA
Searchlight is a historic mining town and has a funny history attached to it. When a popular miner came to the town he was discouraged and thought there is no gold. He quoted that it would take a searchlight to find gold there and one day he did find gold leading the small town to become an extremely populated city. That is how the city got its name.
