Orange County Court - Goshen
The court complex has an odd layout. Parking can be in short supply on a busy day. The entrance faces the complex near Scotchtown Avenue. When you enter there's an escalator to the second floor. It does not continue to the third floor, and that's where the courtrooms are for Orange County Court. It's easier to walk past the escalator and take the elevator to the third floor. Meanwhile, for Supreme Court it makes sense to go up the escalator then turn right and walk down a long hallway. After a couple of turns you'll probably find the right place.
ABOUT THE AREA
New York State's Orange County is not nearly as well known as the one in that large state on the west coast, and its courts are far less busy than the Orange County Courts in California. But this pleasant community has a lot going for it. The governmental center is in Goshen, as is the Orange County Court. Quite a lot of the business in the county relates to the biggest city, Newburgh. The Hudson River runs along the eastern edge of the county, and the Thruway runs through as well. Wikipedia says quite a few famous people have lived here, including the country's first president, plus a noted serial killer. Our personal favorite played point guard for the Knicks.
Berry, Freehill and De Rosa are a trio not known for music.
We've seen Amir Sadaghiani here but the big cheese is Francis Phillips. His friends might call him Frank, but you probably should go with Mr. Phillips.
TYPE OF CASES
Felonies, often originating in Newburgh. They are aggressive on marijuana felonies here, in some contrast to many other parts of NY.
