ABOUT THE AREA
The Village of Tarrytown is the home of Washington Irving and the setting of many of his short stories, most notably "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", which is considered North Tarrytown, and has its own town government. Tarrytown is also known as the "Millionaire's Colony" because many magnates of industry built spectacular mansions and castles here, including John Rockefeller and Robber Baron Jay Gould.
The Honorable Kyle McGovern serves as the Village Justice and the Honorable Hon. Barry Warhit is the Acting Village Justice - some might call it Active rather than Acting. Hmm.
Westchester District Attorneys prosecute the cases.
TYPE OF CASES
DWI and other criminal cases, traffic violations, parking tickets, and small claims cases.
