ABOUT THE AREA
This community was known as "The Lumber Capital of the World" because of the lumber industry operating in this land. Nowadays, companies such as Weis Market, Brodart Company, Susquehanna Health, and Spring Window Fashion, have become some of the most important employment sources in the City of Williamsport, which was incorporated as a borough back in the early years of the 19th century and became a city in the 1860s.
