ABOUT THE AREA
The settlement in this land started back in the late 18th century and the early 19 century when the local Indians faced the arrival of several American and European colonies, who built a fort to take control over the territory and begin a new chapter in the history books of Clinton County. This rural territory welcomed many boatmen and travelers across this land who passed through the West Branch Canal, becoming silent witnesses of the commerce and trading in the area.
