ABOUT THE AREA

This nice borough, county seat of Cameron County near the New York Border, was built by strong men and women who worked at the powder plants and manufactories within this zone back in the early 20th century; even when its incorporation took place in the 1860s. German, Italian, and Irish settlers witnessed the growth of this community elevated 1075 feet above sea level which is located less than 15 miles away from Austin borough and Driftwood.
