ABOUT THE AREA
Named for the mile long pier built by the Erie Railroad in 1839 along the Hudson River, it was the original port for Putnam County. Piermont was also known as Tappan Landing, Tappan Slote and Taulman Landing. Piermont is within the Town of Orangetown, and sits on the Hudson River. Catch some big fish at the end of the pier, but don't park your car on the pier or it might not be there when you get back.
