The village court webpage is sparse of information. Tthe NY State Thruway (I-87) runs through the village, and is the prime source of speeding and traffic tickets.
ABOUT THE AREA
The village of Sloatsburg was part of hunting grounds of the Minsi tribe of the Leni Lenape indians. What was once a major Indian path through the Ramapo Mountains has now become the New York State Thruway (I-87) and US Route 17. The village may be best known for its Thruway service area, but has a lot more going for it than that.
