ABOUT THE AREA

Tionesta Magistrate Founded back in the early 19th century, this land was named after a derivation from an Indian term variously translated as "it penetrates the island" or "home of the wolves". This community in Forest County is located 11 miles away from Pleasantville and is approximately 14 miles away from Tidioute borough. With a very strong German influence, this territory is home of more than 600 inhabitants and serves as the county seat.
