ABOUT THE AREA
With an estimated of 46000 inhabitants, this territory named after Gov. Thomas Mifflin is part of Pennsylvania State map since its foundation back in the late 1780s. More than 35% of the residents report German ancestry, approximately 10% Irish, plus 20% American; which makes this land rich in traditions and beliefs with a racial makeup that includes African American, Native American, Asian, Hispanic, and other races as well. Do not be surprised if someone speaks a West Central German dialect due the presence of Amish and Mennotites, but allow yourself to get tempted by the delicious cuisine and delighted by the lovely architecture. Come to this land and enjoy an exciting Pittsburgh Steelers game, have a coffee at Belleville, or take a walk around Browm Township.
