ABOUT THE AREA
The folks in Cumberland and Allegany County lord it over the rest of Appalachia. They maintain a higher share of teeth per capita, and a substantial proportion have attended at least some secondary schooling. The Cumberland city motto, <i>Come for a Visit, Stay for Life!</i> hasn't worked very well, but most prefer it to the old <i>At least we're not West Virginia</i>. And hopefully they can take a joke, since we're just kidding.
