Some of the communities in Cumberland County are Neoga, Crooked Creed, Union, Jewett, and Toledo (county seat). This territory of almost 350 square miles of extension and home of approximately 11250 people, has a population density of 32 people per square mile which seems to be lower than the statistics reported by its neighbor communities. Coles, Jasper, Shelby, Clark, and Effingham Counties are the closest commercial and social centers located near the heart of Cumberland, which is connected by the Interstate 57, the US Route 40, Ilinois Rout 121, along other seven major asphalt giants.
