ABOUT THE AREA
The town includes the village of Manchester, and is NE of Canandaigua. Manchester is deeply associated with the Mormon Church. Tradition tells of the prophet, Joseph Smith discovering the sacred "Golden Plates" after having visitations from an angel named Moroni, near his family farm located near Manchester. There is a statue of Angel Moroni near NY-21 in Manchester.
