McDounough is a very peaceful community home of almost 33000 people and neighbor of Warren, Hancock, Henderson, Schuyler, and Fulton Counties. Named after Thomas Macdonough (member of the naval Battle of Lake Champlain), this territory was established back in the 1820s having large German colonies residing on its 590 miles of extension. If you feel like having a good time without investing much in your vacations, you may visit Macomb City which is the county seat of McDounough County and enjoy a few rounds at their multiple golf courses, a pleasant stroll at the Spring Lake Park, a nice ride with the Macomb Area Bicycling Club, a nice play at the Macomb Community Theatre, or a good movie at the Macomb Movie Theatre.
